Virtual Therapy Across Ontario

John Foulkes is a Registered Psychotherapist specializing in providing therapy for couples living with ADHD, and training practicing therapists on how to do the same. He supports couples with ADHD in their dynamic, navigating the challenges of ADHD in long-term partnerships, striving to improve emotional connection.

John loves helping couples unpack the impact of neurodivergence, or mixed neurotype unions, on relationship functioning and personal well-being. Working collaboratively, couples will figure out the root causes of their conflict and find effective solutions, allowing them to regain control over their romantic lives and move forward confidently together.

John uses a blend of tailored psychotherapy and coaching techniques to support ADHD brains. John also helps individuals address common mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, stress management, and relationship struggles, worked through independently from their partner or family/blended family.

John’s offers a unique experiential neurodivergent-affirming couples framework called ADHD-Adapted Relational Therapy (AaRT), informed by current treatment guidelines for ADHD, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Emotionally Focused Couple and Family Therapy (EFT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), and Reality Therapy (RTCT).  Couples interested in being placed on a waitlist for John should email him directly.
